Why Place Your Money in Cape Verde Villas?

By: Simon PhillipsJones

We want to focus on some information for readers who may be taking a look at Cape Verde property or perhaps are looking for their very own villa in Cape Verde. In the last three or four years, there has existed a flood of property and tourism related investment inwards into Cape Verde. Why is this and will it persist on the other side of the current world economic crisis?

To answer this, firstly we need to examine the factors for Cape Verde's recent amazing expansion... The reasons are twofold - it has a stable political and economic environment with a democratically elected government, and simply due to its stunning beaches and fabulous local weather. There are hardly any places in the world where twelve months of continual sunshine join with these elements, and the modest flight durations from Europe have really opened up Cape Verde to so many more people.

So will this continue? We think so. The island of Sal, which saw the initial influx of tourism, has had difficulties to cope with this demand. There has been some over-development which has far outstripped the infrastructure functionality of this island. Basically, there was next to nothing in Sal a handful of years previously. This will take time to reorganise, but it's beaches will certainly continue to compel future demand.

The island of Sao Vicente, the location of our project of Cape Verde villas, has recently opened a new international air port, and is immediately capable of hosting direct international flights. The city of Mindelo has been host to Cape Verde's deep sea harbor for over a century, and the current economy and infrastructure are well placed to cope with an imminent growth in tourism for both this island and its sister island Santo Antao. Santo Antao, though not yet equipped for a considerable tourism growth is no more than eleven kilometers away and is a 'must see' for any visitor; untamed and verdant in a manner reminiscent of "Jurassic Park" or "Lost". Sao Vicente has a number of exceptionally high quality sandy beaches, is host to the largest annual festival in Cape Verde and additionally the yearly Baia das Gatas music event.

Boavista, with its virgin sandy beaches will also attract many. Last year it also opened a new international airport and is currently serving a couple of all-inclusive hotels. Like Sal, Boavista is somewhat deserted in nature and has a growing property and tourism industry, but has brilliant beaches and an infrastructure problem to meet the new tourism burden.

With ever developing tourism and property sectors, a great variety between islands, and let's face it... twelve months a year of sandy beaches and clear blue skies, the suitable property investments in Cape Verde will undoubtedly supply tremendous capital growth and rental income opportunities for numerous years to come.
