Using BPM to Keep Your Business Secure

By: JulieRobinson

You would have to be living under a rock to not know about the WikiLeaks scandal that is going on right now. I have a different view on the whole issue. I don’t think that the scandal is as big of a deal as the media is making it out to be. Sure, some government officials are going to get their feelings hurt but the impact on national security is going to be minimal. The truth is events like the WikiLeaks scandal make companies re-evaluate their security protocols and that is a good thing.

You may not realize it, but there is a strong relationship between BPM (Business Process Management) and security which is why there is more of a focus on both after events like this occur. You can find a variety of different companies out there offering BPM services including streamlining your business and data operations and making your data more accessible.

One company that is taking BPM services a step further is Sekimia. They focus not only on making your business operate as smoothly as possible but also keeping all your data and trade secrets secure. Sekimia helps businesses learn how BPM can help them streamline their data operations while also protecting their data from people who would try to steal and misuse it. This is different than the usual approach that BPM companies take with their services.
You don’t really hear a lot about the relationship between BPM and security which is too bad. Too many BPM companies don’t focus on issues like viruses and other attacks on your servers, a plan to recover your data if the server fails or show you how to protect your data from people who should not have access to it, both outside and inside your organization. They consider these issues something you should have someone else address which can leave your business in a bad position.

Sekimia does not embrace this approach because unlike other BPM companies, their main focus is not simply automating all your data and systems with specific types of software. They know that this approach, if not combined with security considerations, would actually make your company more likely to suffer from data theft and other issues that could result in the loss of sensitive information. Sekimia takes steps to make sure that your BPM platform is setting Information Security and Business Continuity policies on solid ground.

You cannot take the security of your BPM platform for granted and assume that your data is safe because there are a lot of things that could go wrong. If you work with Sekimia, they will help you get your business running as smoothly and efficiently as possible and also teach you how to protect your data and other information. The WikiLeaks scandal can actually be beneficial if companies can learn from it and use it to take a new look at their business security and their BPM practices.
