The immense popularity of the musical TV series, Glee, has also brought with it the situation of handicapped people. Glee is a hit series produced by Fox that brings about the lives of high school students and their moments with their Glee Club, which is considered to be the club for losers in their school. One of the popular characters in the TV show happens to be a handicapped student named RD who's trying to be normal in their high school despite his condition. In one of the episodes of the series, RD has been put on the spotlight as his fellow glee club members find a way to rent a bus capable of transporting a handicapped person. It became their big problem since renting a bus designed for the disabled costs much. Later on, they were able to raise money but RD refused to rent bus and insisted to just donate the money for a construction of a ramp leading to their school auditorium. This scenario is just one of the many situations that handicapped people feel most especially when there are plans of traveling to a far place. Well, if you have a family member who is on a wheelchair, you wouldn't like him or her feel too bad about his or her condition. If you have plans of going somewhere and you don't want him to feel the way RD felt, then having a handicap van can be the best solution to your problem. Just like the specially designed bus that RD and his glee club planned to rent, a handicap van works just the same except that its built is far smaller than a bus that can accommodate at most ten wheelchairs and about 20 able passengers. For this kind of van, it can accommodate at most two wheel chairs and about four or six other passengers. Basically, this modified van looks just like the other vans that you see on the streets. There are no major differences when it comes to the built of the van and you won't really recognize that it is a van for the disabled unless it bears a sign that it is for such. The difference comes from within because a wheelchair van has more space compared to other vans because this space is intended for the wheelchair. With this van, you don't have to bother about removing the disabled person from the wheelchair and folding the wheelchair because all you need to do is to push the wheelchair into the van and strap it inside so that it won't be a rocky ride for the handicapped person once he or she is already inside the van. The handicap van also has a moveable ramp that can be anchored on any ground whether it is lower or higher than the van; thus, moving the wheelchair in will never be a hassle that even the person on the wheelchair can do it by himself. Hopefully, the hit musical series, Glee, can inspire car manufacturers to build a handicap van so that more disabled people can benefit from this, and they won't have a hard time going from one place to another.
