The Latest Trends In Bohemian Clothing And Fashion

By: Jeffery Holter

For most of us, spring has sprung and, the warmer weather has us all thinking about beaches and barbecues. But in the world of fashion, Fall 2010 is just around the corner, and the cooler breezes are already blowing. This year the current seems to be pulling away from close-fitting looks with skinny jeans, and moving toward looser-fitting bohemian clothing and fashion, which are as big on comfort as they are on style. Boho chic style has a sort of worldly, cosmopolitan flair that combines loose-fitting, skin-covering ethnic pieces with interesting accessories like boots, scarves, and handmade jewelry.
One big theme in the upcoming season of bohemian clothing and fashion is definitely draping. This season, fashion is all about the details, and some sharp draping can turn a relatively simple fabric into a beautiful work of art. In boho chic fashion, draping means basic fabrics that are sewn into multiple layers, as you'll often find in chiffon skirts, silk scarves, and even ethnic-inspired dresses. If the runway is any indication, interesting draping is one of the greatest emerging trends of 2010.
Another trend making waves in bohemian clothing and fashion is embellishment. Runways from New York to Paris have featured boho essentials like tunic tops and dresses blinged out with small, detailed jewels, sequins, and other ornaments. Evening looks with shiny, fantastical embellishments were unmistakably boho, while subtler daytime looks boasted tone-on-tone beading and jewels.
Finally, this Fall will see the return of black in bohemian clothing and fashion. Throughout the fashion world, bright colors like red and orange come and go, and super bold colors have had a runway presence this year. But the official color of Fall 2010 is definitely black. Dark, sexy fabrics such as velvet have found their way into all kinds of looks, and while colored velvets of midnight blue and burgundy wine will peek out from otherwise minimalist boho looks, look for black velvet as a staple fabric for cool-weather boho looks this autumn.
