By: Mike Davis

It cannot be denied that tennis is one of the games that a lot of people would love to learn how to play; and if you are one of those people who would like to become good at playing tennis, there are some tennis coaching drills that you can practice often most especially if you are just a beginner.
One of the drills that you can definitely enjoy when you want to practice tennis is to let someone throw the ball at you while you stay on the other side trying to hit it with your racquet. Most beginners usually have a hard time practicing this drill because they are still not that familiar with the feel of hitting the ball with the racquet, but once the feeling starts to sink in, they eventually become more at eased with doing different strokes. In addition to this, this is one of the tennis coaching drills that will allow the beginners to enjoy practicing with their friends and family because it can be performed by an entire team. This can be done by dividing the team into two groups and then letting one group be in charge of throwing the ball to a designated partner; while on the other hand, the partner tries to hit as many balls as he/she can. After some time, the two groups can then exchange roles to let the other players practice hitting the tennis balls as well. Another type of drill that you can practice alone or with your friends is to master the different foot works that are needed for you to be able to move inside the court faster. Some of the common foot works that even professional tennis players do is by moving from one side of the court to another while just facing in one direction. In addition to moving from side to side, you also need to master how you will be able to move excellently from the back of the court to the area near the net as fast as you can; furthermore, moving diagonally across the court is also an important drill because it allows you to catch the ball faster. When you are already at ease about how you move inside a tennis court, you can also focus on the tennis coaching drills that involve how you hit the ball with your racquet, or what people usually call 'strokes'. With this aspect, know that there are different types of strokes available while playing tennis; some of the most common are backhand, forehand and smash. The method by which you should hit the ball actually differs depending on what hand you are more comfortable in using when hitting the ball and playing tennis. To know the right processes in doing these strokes for hitting the ball, there are various tutorials that can be found online or even in books; as a matter of fact, if you have a friend that will be generous enough to teach you, it would be a better option for you.
Considering that you really took the time to know all these really effective tennis coaching drills, it would be impossible for you to not become a good tennis player and not enjoy the sport as well.
