By: Norman Kirby

Princess Yachts International Plc is a fine example of a company that has succeeded in beating many of the major problems of the worldwide fiscal predicament. Princess Yachts, a UK maker of luxury yachts is an international contributor of such products for the worlds impressive yacht owners. The company has been in trade from 1965, and at first centered mainly on the assembly of 20- to 30-foot luxury yachts. 5 years later, the company began making yachts with the launch of its acclaimed Princess 32.

After more than 40 years of experience, Princess Yachts has come to be thought to be a mainstay of the luxury yacht industry. Initially, its originator, David King, called the brand name Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd. Since that time, it has designed eighty distinctive versions of luxury yachts to the marketplace. In 2001, the yacht producer was named Princess Yachts International Plc.

In the 1st quarter of 2009, Princess Yachts International Plc completed an in-depth strategic study that resulted in high-level strategy to make the company more powerful and poise it for success regardless of the financial slump. A key component of management?s new plan consisted of an investment decision of millions of pounds in new facilities to be established in Plymouth along with the companies other sites. The plan also included funds in more skills and preparation of Princesss labor force to facilitate construction of more significant ships, which include a new 130-foot flagship yacht.

The company, which has a physically powerful track record of worthy devotion to its personnel, felt at the time that it could only carry on to operate with a restructured workers of about 1,700. This came as a devastating knock to some staff, mainly those in certain fabrication roles who had already seen a 10 percent drop in their workweek hours the prior December in a bid to rescue jobs that were in jeopardy. Even so, the company defended its personnel reduction policy as being by a long way less impactful than those of its opponents.

Just several weeks after making the broadcast about the staff cuts, Princess Yachts secured a lease which gave them their move to a new spot in the South Yard area of Devonport Naval Base, also in Plymouth. This larger new facility offered the boat manufacturer the room compulsory to accommodate the large yacht development that would give it a renewed competitive edge.
Lately, Princess Yachts was awarded the high status "Boat of the Year Award" for the Sports Cruiser Category. The accolade was given at the London International Boat Show, and the award-winning yacht was Princess Yachts? Princess V62. It is the 2nd year back to back the maker takes the prize in this class, reinvigorating its mastery of the efficiency motor yacht sector.

Princess Yachts will be present at a list of global boat events, such as the luxurious Monaco Yacht Show in Monte-Carlo this coming September where you can scrutinize some of Princess Yachts? highlighted designs.
