SIA Licence clamp down - Refuge Industry Authority clamps down on rogue door staff working while in the London pubs and club.

Last week, 12 venues in the Hackney were visited by Security Industry Authority investigators and 41 individuals inspected. Of those, 39 seized valid SIA licences. The many maneuver across all of the borough of Hackney was every one of the last stage for the a three month police-led pilot campaign targeting rogue door staff working contained in the pubs and clubs within the three London boroughs, Camden, Lambeth and Hackney.

A door supervisor was arrested and charged in fraud after to work as found working illegally during the a fake SIA licence at a club within your Old Street on the weekend. As well as the whole individual working with the fake licence, a safekeeping director was identified who did not hold all of the non front-line SIA licence required if deploying refuge staff. A further five door staff were issued around the warnings for failing to notify the whole SIA of the change of address, and one was given a warning for failing to display an SIA licence whilst on duty.

All the police also closed a Shoreditch bar owing to poor management, breaches of this premises licence conditions and overcrowding.

Inside the three-month initiative, Sanctuary Industry Authority investigators supported officers within the Metropolitan Police’s SCD9 unit within a checking venues with the Camden, Lambeth and Hackney boroughs to make sure they have been adhering to licensing regulations, something like door staff holding and displaying valid SIA licences – a requirement by law.

At the total, 156 individuals were inspected at licensed premises across the whole set of three boroughs. Police sent two door supervisors home for working illegally and 20 warnings were issued for breaching licensing conditions.
