How you can compete with multinational corporation by having an online shop and successful search engine optimisation.

By: Raj Flak

A lot of small business clients that I come into contact with are under the assumption that they have no chance competing online with the larger companies. This could not be further from the truth, as having a search engine optimisation and marketing campaign, is just about the easiest way to compete with these companies.
D o not be daunted by seeing such large companies on the first page of your SERPS, or search engine result pages. You will begin to notice, if you search different terms, that there are a lot of smaller companies competing for highly competitive keywords. These companies have made the investment of a successful search engine optimisation campaign, and are reaping the rewards. According to recent figures, the return from SEO campaigns is an average of 97:1. This is an astonishing figure.
If a large national company sells an item that you also offer, the chances are that successful seo marketing, can get you competing. It may take between £1-£5,000 to start reaching the first page on Google, but let’s look at how you can earn this back within months:
Note that this is just an example and in is in no way representative of an existing, past company, or seo campaign. The results here are likely results after an SEO, and web marketing campaign.

1. Your company manufactures doll houses, and sells them online. The competition for this is huge.
2. You want to start selling more online, and have a little money to invest. 300 people a month visit your website.
3. You hire an seo company, who researches your niche and keyword, and gives you a price of £3,200 to reach the first page of Google, and drive traffic to your website.
4. This company optimises and promotes your website, and reach page one within three months.
5. Your traffic goes from 300 visitors a month to 12,000 visitors a month.
6. Your orders jump from 43 web orders a month to 940 orders a month.
7. Your average dollhouse costs £125.00, cheaper than a lot of large competition. At 940 orders a month, this equates to £117,500 of orders per month, which was previously £5,375 order a month.

This is just an example to show you why search engine optimisation is such big business. The initial investment in seo can yield great results.
