Active Forums get fresh content posted by users, thats why search engines love them and index new posts fast. This makes forums one of the great sources of traffic for your websites.
Many fall for the idea of spamming while trying to get traffic from forums. This is a bad idea. Spamming creates work for forum moderators and usually lead to a ban and usually accompanied by removing all the posts; which closes the door for future traffic source.
Some tips to be followed while trying to get traffic from forums:
- Find forums relevant to your niche. People flocked in the forum seeing relevance links on your signature would have better chance of clicking on your link. They also conforms the targeted visitor, with a better chance to convert to a lead.
- Do not spam links on the posts, use your signature to put links on. Forum community and moderators do not like spammers. Spamming links on posts is never a good attempt to get traffic.
- Use avatar. Add a nice avatar for your website. Nice graphics always catches eyes better.
- Be authority, help others. People would always pay extra attention to your links when you help them out. Helping others would establish your authority.
- Be active. Forum community pays attention to active members. Being active increases your chances of getting more visitor to your website.
