You do not need me to sit here and tell you that in this world, it is almost impossible to search the internet without finding an adult site. What makes it even worse is most of the time you stumbled across that site on total accident. This shows us how easily it will be for a child to stumble across one of these sites, it is important you do not let this happen. In this article we are going to teach you how to filter certain sites on your computer.

1-Change Your Search Setting To A Heavy Filter

I know that by changing the settings on your search engine, you are not blocking sites from being viewed, but you are blocking them from showing up in the search. This helps a lot because when most kids are browsing the web they do it through search engines. To change the settings is simple, all you have to do is go to the preferences and the search engines home page and select heavy filtering. It is important that you make sure it is working properly by doing a few searches on your own.

2-Get a filtering software like Net Nanny

Have you ever heard of a website filtering device called Net Nanny? If not you are in for a treat. This software actually let's you filter any kind of website based off of what you want filtered. But one of the best parts about this program is the fact that it doesn’t stop there. The program will allow you to take a look at your child's Facebook, Myspace, and AIM instant messaging.

3-Use a program called pure sight

I know there are some people out there who are just looking for an inexpensive way to monitor what their children are looking at. If that is you then a program called Pure Sight is perfect. The reason it is much cheaper than Net Nanny is because you are not able to monitor the social networking sites or the instant messaging. But if you do not care about that then why not save some money right?
