Horse Racing-Keep Focused

By: Dave Articlesubmit

Have you ever stopped to wonder why you have not made a fortune from your horse racing activities? If the advertisements for all those horse racing and tipster systems are to be believed it is really easy. “Make £50,000 a year” or “The last losing horse I tipped was ridden by Lady Godiva”. So why after having bought some of these systems are you still not winning?
Of course one of the reasons could be that some of these systems are not quite s good as their promoters claim. But whilst there are some good systems on the market it does take time and money to sort the wheat from the chaff.
There is one way that anyone should be able to profit from horse racing without spending money on horse racing systems or paying for expensive tips. What I am going to suggest to you is far more powerful than experience, contacts and inside information.
You may find this hard to believe so let me prove it to you. Horse racing journalists have considerable experience. Many have been connected with the sport for 20, 30 or even 40 years. They know anyone who is anyone inside horse racing and every day they give you the benefit of their knowledge in the form of naps and tips. Very few of them even make a profit with their nap bets, their best of the best and they have far more losers than winners with their other selections.
If the experts cannot win what chance do you have? If you adopt the right attitude you will have a far greater chance of winning than the “experts”.
Why?
Because you will be able to focus.
A racing correspondent has to cover every meeting, whether it is flat, national hunt or all weather. They also usually have to come up with a selection for every race. You do not have to. You can afford to adopt a focused approach and specialise. In Internet marketing people are always told to find a niche and concentrate on that. That is also good advice for punters, study 2 year old races, novices chases or all weather sprints. In fact any racing niche that takes your fancy. Stay totally focused on that niche and discover as much as you can about the horses, trainers, jockeys and in fact every aspect of your niche.
In a remarkably short time you could become an expert in your niche and you will stand a far better chance of profiting from your racing than if you try and be a jack of all races. There is one drawback with the fully focused method and that is that on some days you will have no bets. But the question you have to ask your self is, do you back horses for fun or profit. If the answer is profit then stay focused.
