Holiday to Tanzania – How to plan a holiday to Tanzania?

By: Jason Steller

Start planning your holiday to Tanzania by researching what there is to do in Tanzania. You can easily find plenty of information about various attractions in the country of Tanzania by looking on the Internet at travel wikis or travel guide sites. Based on your interests you may find a lot of things or just a few things you really want to do on a holiday to Tanzania. Try to narrow down your list of things to do to an amount that you can reasonably do in the amount of time you have to be in Tanzania.

Once you have decided what you want to do on a holiday to Tanzania, start looking for travel arrangements. Depending on the type of tourist you are, this could be finding a tour company and booking a tour itinerary that best meshes with what you want to do or making individual reservations for lodging, airfare, car, etc. Either route is fine, just remember that doing it on your own can be more work, but at the same time some tour companies can be more hassle than they save you work on booking your trip. When choosing a tour company to book your holiday to Tanzania it is a good idea to research the company and read reviews of people’s experience traveling with them before you book your holiday.

If you go with a tour company for your holiday to Tanzania, they will often help you handle or at least provide you with the necessary information related to visas and medical information. However, it is always a good idea to double check before your vacation if any regulations have changed. Most people traveling to Tanzania can do so on a tourist visa, but note that volunteering unpaid is considered something that you need a work visa to do in Tanzania. Medical things to plan before your vacation include making sure you are up to date on all vaccinations recommended for those going on holiday to Tanzania with a major focus on making sure you have a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you plan to enter Tanzania from a country on their latest yellow fever list. It is also important to make sure you obtain an anti-malaria prescription if you will be going on holiday in regions of Tanzania that malaria is an issue, which includes the region that most people go on safari in Tanzania.
