Do Enjoy Your Job? How About Being A Video Games Tester?

By: Jon Evans

Video game testing is not a job you will stumble across in a directory. But in the near future, video game testing will grow into a major job industry. It's simply stunning that more people have not realized this.

What you need as a video games tester is a good understanding of the English language and a good Internet connection. Of course you will need the appropriate console or PC with the right specs. It doesn't take higher education in order to get into the video game testing industry. But you do need a strong will and drive to play video games and look for the slightest details.

Even though when you test video games you are not going to an office in a suit, it is still a real job. This means that you must be professional when you work. When you do end up dealing with each gaming company you need to act like a professional. Doing so will make you look much better than others vying for the game testing jobs.

Whether you are looking for a part-time job or you want to be a full time employee, game testing could be the right job for you. Also, you work at home which has plenty of it's own benefits. But you must understand you need to buy the correct systems to run the games on your own.

As a video games tester you will need to spot apparent bugs and most of the time overlooked mistakes made by the programmers. A good gamer will easily detect these kinds of faults more easily than a developer can.
