DIY Chocolate Gift Basket: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating the Perfect Gift for Chocoholics

By: Mike Davis

Are you looking for the best gift for a female birthday celebrant? If you are at your wit's end, searching for the perfect gift for someone who has everything, a chocolate gift basket is something that you should consider. Most women love chocolates and would appreciate getting a chocolate candy bar at any time of the day. So you can just imagine the delightful emotions that receiving a chocolate gift basket will evoke.

Do you need help putting together this sweet surprise? Read on for a step-by-step guide. But before you do, take note of the following items that you will need for the project:

1. A basket or any other container, such as a nice box or a dainty little bag;
2. Filler materials like shredded color paper or a piece of satin cloth;
3. A variety of chocolate candies or chocolate-flavored goodies;
4. A sheet of cellophane or transparent plastic that you can use for wrapping the basket in; and,
5. A nice, thick ribbon to secure the packaging, and in a nice color.

Now, here's how to do it:

First, decide which particular items you want to include in your chocolate gift basket. Is it fine to have those common chocolate treats or do you want to take it a step further by choosing a selection of rich Belgian or Swiss chocolates? If you feel that the recipient won't mind getting the usual chocolate treats, you can also add in a special gourmet bar to serve as the central theme of the chocolate gift basket. To achieve variety, also consider loading up on chocolate-covered biscuits, truffles, and chocolate chip cookies.

Second, now that you have everything you need, you can start working on the packaging. Think about how to arrange all the items neatly inside the basket, making sure to add in a touch of fun and creativity. For this part, it is important to choose your container wisely. It should be wide enough to accommodate all the items, and shallow enough to showcase the variety of items. It should also be reusable and recyclable for an added eco-friendly factor.

Third, arrange the items accordingly. Line the basket with fillers such as straw, shredded colored paper or your piece of satin cloth. Then arrange the items inside the lined basket, making sure to balance the items both in terms of the weight and the visual effect. Once you have placed all the items inside the basket, add some more filler materials as necessary, making sure that the items do not shake around when you move the chocolate gift basket.

Fourth, when you are satisfied with the arrangement, you can move on to sealing the package. Take a large sheet of plastic or cellophane. Put the basket on top of the sheet, right on the center, and gather the edges over the basket's handle. Make sure that the entire basket is covered so none of the items can spill over.
Fifth, secure your chocolate gift basket by tying the edges up with a ribbon. Make a nice, big bow and you're ready to go.
