Crime From Online to Real Life

By: Aubrey Moulton

A small little Wyoming town known as Casper contains a population of regarding fifty,000 and many of these are enrolled at Casper College. Life is more relaxed and everybody knows their neighbor. It is a spot where it isn't at all uncommon to see folks outside riding their horses, farming with their tractors, and not only creating a living however enjoying being alive.

It’s an extremely peaceful type of area where they care about one another. However, that picture has been soiled. A Casper woman was battered and raped at knifepoint and left on the front room floor roped and immobile. And what is even more bizarre is that the attacker alleged he was induced by the lady to try to to this act.

This tale appeared impossible however once police began investigating, they found that the lady’s ex-boyfriend posed the incident and the victim online. He's being accused and is facing charges of claiming and posting that the woman wanted to be assaulted as half of a rape fantasy.
This case shows that atrocities happen everywhere. It is not solely in large cities but even in tiny rural towns. There are predators online and the net may be a means for them to seek out the perfect victim. On-line ads that hint at sex and prostitution appeal to predators from all over.

Web crimes are typically tough for law enforcement officials to solve. Prosecutor Mike Bonigen lamented "tracking down who's involved is relatively difficult...It's pretty straightforward to set up a false identity in cyberspace, therefore that is always an issue. And of course, they have to create some overt act to really accomplish any of these things. We aren't the thought police."

The victim who was raped some days before the incident complained to the sheriff's department that there was a posting on Craigslist regarding her and it even included photos of her. The ad read "Want a real man's man with no concern for ladies" police said. Craigslist took down the posting after the complaint was made but it wasn't quick enough. Someone skillful the ad and the lady was raped.

The attacker apparently had even emailed backwards and forwards with the person he believed was the lady but it actually turned out to be her ex-boyfriend Jebediah Stipe a Marine based mostly in Twentynine Palms, Calif., Stipe was arrested and is "being processed for administrative separation as a result of a outline of misconduct at the time of the arrest" said a spokeswoman for the Marine Corps.

The attacker has been charged with three counts of 1st-degree sexual assault, one count of kidnapping and one count of aggravated burglary. Jebediah Stipes the former boyfriend is charged with conspiracy to commit 1st-degree sexual assault. While these men were charged it brings up many queries about internet safety measures and how that interprets over into a personal’s personal life. Everyone needs to take care online and sadly this lady suffered because of a psycho ex-boyfriend.
