Christians and Online Marketing

By: Paul Wright

A good buddy who has a very good Christian radio station consulted me whether or not I figured that he should use paid advertising or rely exclusively on gifts to finance his radio station.

I speedily replied that he should not depend entirely on the Christians to sustain his radio station. This was especially actual since he was already earning a good living through paid ad while serving through Christian music very profitably. Noticeably that radio station can run advertisements as LONG AS nothing insincere or non-Christian is promoted. As far as I know, most Christians eat, buy cars, etc.

I still cleave to that idea.
As a missionary, I also prefer to raise means for my missions efforts through my own online marketing (tentmaking), rather than rely only on aid. That is because of the time element involved with itinerating and not simply for financial basis.

"Christian Marketing" or "Christian's in Business"?

Do you have a Christian Internet business or are you a Christian with an online business?

Here are 2 definitions that Terry Dean stated in a recent interview pertaining to Christians and Business:

" "Christian business" may mean a marketing that markets to Christians (like a Christian bookstore).

" "Christian in marketing" is merely someone who is a Christian in marketing.

I'm a Christian in an internet marketing. You can read more about my marketing as a Christian below. Perhaps you should have a Christian online marketing too.

Christian Online Business Fallacies
As a Christian Entrepreneur there is something that concerns me:

I have found lots of non-Christians that set a better model than that of the Christian culture. Expressing that you are a Christian while practicing dishonesty is confusing. That really bothers me. Integrity is definitely a atypical commodity on the internet and Christians ought be the first to step to the plate and portray straightforward ideals.

Don't get me wrong, I am only expressing my experience, there are also specific best examples of Christian Uprightness out there, such as Terry Dean (mentioned above), Maria Reyes McDavis, Problogger Darren Rowse and many others who have very flourishing internet businesses.
I do however, get pretty bad of religiosity (there's a distinction in being religious and being Christlike). I tend to strive and balance this out as a"spiritual" leader.

Your Christian Online Business
As a Christian, What is your Internet Marketing? should You merely target Christan's in an online business?

We all are called to be a light to the world and a city set on a hill. How in the earth can you let your light shine if you ONLY promote to Christians? Not all is called to be a missionary, but everybody is called to be a light in their every day existence…a evangelist in their daily world. You'll never accomplish your mission retreating from the world.
