An Overview Of The Xbox 360 Game Red Dead Redemption

By: Kim Beal

Xbox 360 has done it again with the game Red Dead Redemption that to begin with has incredible
graphics. One can see terrains for miles, especially when perched atop a hill. Of course, this fare does
not work out for everybody. However, for lovers of the wild and spaghetti Westerns, this should be the
game to play. It helps that the Xbox 360 uses a 3.2 GHz Tri-Core Xenon processor, which makes the
magic happen, ably assisted by 512 megabytes of memory.
Although anyone would wish for more, the hardware side of things does not in away detract from the
enjoyment of the game. It is one of the most intelligent and plausible games which Microsoft has
banked its career on, since the first Xbox 360 console was shipped before the summer of 2005. With
substantial hardware improvements, Xbox 360 games are the best, kudos to the high performance
graphics card. After the technology, Red Dead Redemption should earn enough points for creativity,
characterization and the overall realism of its gaming environment. The curtain opens on a train ride to
Armadillo, a Mexican Wild Wild West with the usual perks such as saloons, cowboys, prostitutes and
card games.
Because there are so many things to do in the Armadillo environment, it is very easy to get distracted.
Definitely, another point to the developer since everything is so complex it is almost impossible to get
bored. Eventually, the cowboy landscape turns into National Geographic. It is almost like getting lost
in the Western hemisphere and then finding oneself being part of a live documentary where wild
animals of all shapes and sizes are running around, enjoining players to a wild goose chase. Every kill
carries a prize and this is one of the primary ways of going up the ranks in Red Dead Redemption. For
example, killing five deer and skinning these creatures will cause one’s rank to go up to Tier 2, and so
on. Other ways of gaining respect in the gaming community is to be a Good Samaritan by rescuing
gals kidnapped by bandits or the local priest held hostage. There are so many things to do in Armadillo
country and before they know it, players have amassed a fortune of respect and admiration. Gamers
know this when everybody smiles at them on the streets or the local town folks bow their heads as a
sign of respect, or remove their hats.
It is a flattering feeling, but of course, one that is earned. For someone who is lazy, Red Dead
Redemption would not be the game to go with. Likewise, there are no Ninjas out here, so there is the
warning for Dragon Ball Z lovers. Anyone looking for martial arts stuff in this environment is
definitely lost and is therefore advised to take the next train out. However, it is not impossible for
anime or manga enthusiasts to get attracted to the game for as they say, opposite poles do attract.
Easily, Red Dead Redemption should make it to the list of the best Xbox 360 games. The academy
may be slow in voting, but with the game’s quaint yet tasty mixture of the Wild West and National
Geographic videos, the experience is certainly enriching to the imagination. It is definitely worth every
penny, and who knows, the gamer might even find the love of his or her life somewhere in the Outback.
