32 th Festival of New Latin American Cinema

Alfredo Guevara, president of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, beginning with a speech the 32nd edition of the event, held until 12 December and will be screened 500 films.
Important personalities as the writer Gabriel García Márquez, president of the Foundation for New Latin American Cinema, the singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez, Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto, and vice-president, Esteban Lazo attended the event.
The opening film was the Mexican Revolution, "in tribute to the Bicentennial celebration of Mexico, along with ten short films by filmmakers from that country".
In the competition there is a total of 165 films. Argentina, is represented by 88 titles, the most represented country, followed by Mexico with 79 and Cuba with 78.
