The End of the world is emerging two years from now. According to the notorious ancient Mayan calendar doomsday prediction, the world, as well know it would end on the 21st of December, 2012. The belief and the concepts circulating 2012 the end of the world theory has grown in popularity as compared to a lot of Apocalypse and the antichrist theories and predictions that have caused such uproar over the course of decades. Despite the fact that there are many failed End of the world prophecies, the first of which dates as far back as 1669, a great deal of people these days are convinced of the authenticity of the ancient Mayan forecasts, the question now is, why? Indeed, with the last doomsday debacle concerning the Y2K theories seem to have lost its dismaying effect among people and this 2012 apocalypse prediction has the entire planet believing and had even inspired a movie. The first of these many reasons for credibility stems from the reputation of the ancient Mayans as a methodical, scientifically and mathematically complex, religious and spiritual race. The most referenced and most popular version of the theory is that of the Mayan calendar that accurately predicts the end of the planet's current life cycle. Although scientists, astronomy and biblical scholars have fought and debated over the soundness and accuracy of the calendar and the ancient Mayan calculations, they all agreed in the end that the ancient calculation of the Earth’s lunar cycle is just thirty seconds off than that of the globally accepted lunar cycle; and that is it for all of us, then. And there is another End of the world theory that had started and fueled the 2012 official countdown. A shifting of the poles is another theory that has a large amount of people believing in the 2012 doomsday prophecies because the most recent magnetic pole shift is said to have wiped out the dinosaurs. There are however other theories that offer less frightening details about what will occur in the year 2012, one such theory is that the world will not be wiped out or sucked into a black hole but the world and everybody in it will endure a heightened level of consciousness and spirituality which makes all knowledge of the former world, or the old Earth irrelevant. Now if the End of the planet is truly less than two years away, what are you going to do until then?
